October 23rd 2005 – TEVA AR Sprint, Wombat State Forest VIC
After a couple months of training, just a quick update to let you all know we (Mick, Col, Andy) completed our first Adventure Race this Sunday 23rd October 2005.

It was a component of the TEVA Sprint series, 30km mountain bike, 12km run, obstacles and orienteering in Wombat State Forest, approx 1 hr north of Melbourne (Gisborne area).

It was a wet and wild race, lots of mud, and a huge amount of fun.

We finished 32nd out of field of 53 (time of 4 hrs 20min), so not too bad considering it was our first up effort…with a huge amount of room for improvement.

Training continues, and we are looking at entering a few longer races, approx 8 hrs, and 36 hrs respectively into the new year.

Mick competing in Adelaide next week, part of the Red Yeti 36 hr non stop event.
